to be used solely for non-commercial purposes in promoting the Gulf Shores and Orange
Beach area as a visitor and convention destination. All advertising, commercial

The CVB has a basic list of local media outlets. This list is not comprehensive

Media Contacts Throughout Destination
The CVB can assist working media identify potential interview subjects by providing
the appropriate media contacts at various local accommodations, attractions, restaurants,

Media Hosting Policy for Group Press Trips
Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism (CVB) contacts with Geiger & Associates Public
Relations to plan and implement two or more group press trips per year. Typically,
a trip is offered each spring and fall. For more information or to inquire about

Media Hosting Policy for Individual Press Trips
Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism (CVB) coordinates a number of individual press
trips throughout the year for staff travel writers and editors, freelance travel
writers on assignment and members of travel-related TV and radio programs.
Depending on the nature of the assignment, the CVB can assist with accommodations,
suggested itineraries and more. Please note that discounted or complimentary arrangements
are provided at the discretion of the host businesses and are subject to availability
and interest of each facility.
Our peak summer season is Memorial Day to Labor Day, and we generally cannot provide complimentary
or discounted accommodations or attraction admission during this time. However,
we can schedule interviews and photography sessions in addition to supplying background
information.
Please understand that our primary concern is assisting members of the working media.
Host locations are not always able to accommodate spouses, children and visitors
accompanying working journalists. CVB policy prohibits the hosting of journalists
if the primary purpose of the trip is leisure or holiday travel for that individual
with family and/or friends.
Although the CVB cannot generally provide airfare nor do we typically provide complimentary
rental car services, we can make it easy for you to visit the Alabama Gulf Coast.
We want you to have a fun and productive visit!
To help us help you, please complete the following steps:
- Contact the CVB with as much lead time as possible. The earlier that you contact us, the more we may be able to assist you. To best assist you, we kindly request two business weeks notice.
- Complete the media assistance request (media-assistance request form).
- Email a letter of assignment to kchapman@gulfshores.com.
- Send samples of previously published stories to kchapman@gulfshores.com.
To remain on our preferred media list, please forward an original copy of your print
or online published feature, CD, DVD or VHS tape, as well as air dates, as soon
as possible after the feature runs.

Special Note for Bloggers
Bloggers must represent a quality website and/or blog devoted to travel, food, or outdoor recreation with a healthy readership demonstrated by either by a large audience or small but highly engaged audience. Please provide third party documentation of web traffic data (such as Google Analytics) in addition to the previously mentioned clips. Bloggers must also be active on social media, Facebook and Twitter in particular, and be committed to tweeting and posting during the trip. Finally, bloggers are reminded of the FCC rules governing endorsements and testimonials and must inform the CVB of how the disclosure will be displayed.
