Ways to Stay Cool on the Golf Course
Gulf Shores & Orange Beach
Ice, Ice Baby! Cool off at Kiva Dunes, Rock Creek, Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club, and Craft Farms Golf Resort with iced towels and iced apples on the course. If a course doesn't provide this service, put a few towels in your ice chest and voila: iced towels!

Dress the Part
Be sure to wear light-colored, breathable clothing. Some of these items may include white shoes, light-colored shirts, ankle socks, and dry-fit sun hats. Don’t be afraid to show those legs! Shorts will save you from the heat being trapped in your pant legs. It’s also good to have a few pairs of golf gloves to interchange to make sure your grip is on point. The sun will dry out the pairs you aren’t wearing. Check out the golf shops of our courses and stock up!
A Positive Attitude
This is the most overlooked but necessary component of playing in summer months. After all, you are out on one of the beautiful Gulf Coast properties with the wind blowing through your hair, the birds chirping, and the Gulf of Mexico waiting on you to finish so you can take a dip! Saltwater isn’t your thing? Book a stay at one of these Gulf Shores or Orange Beach accommodations and take a swim.
Hydrate – a No Brainer
Drink four times the amount you think you need! It’s recommended to drink one bottle of water every two to three holes. Most of our courses have beverage carts ready and eager to serve you. Drink cool water rather than cold water because the body absorbs cool water quicker. Save the brewskies for after your round. Check out these Gulf Shores and Orange Beach restaurants to grab a cold one when the time comes.
