Gulf Shores & Orange Beach
More than 400 talented chefs and culinary teams will converge on Orange Beach for the 2016 World Food Championships, Nov. 11-13 at The Wharf. The competition will be stiff as teams from 20 countries and 45 states compete for $300,000 in cash prizes.
You won’t want to miss the excitement as the Kenmore Kitchen Arena heats up with cooking action, so we’ve compiled five tips for making the most of your World Food Championships experience.
1. Check the Kitchen Arena schedule for the rounds that interest you most. There will be competitions in dessert, steak, seafood, recipe, sandwich, burger, barbecue and bacon. You might observe some new techniques or recipe ideas to add to your own culinary repertoire.
2. Don’t miss out on the Tasting Village. No doubt watching teams prepare their dishes will make your mouth water. While you won’t be able to sample the dishes made for judges during the competitions, the WFC Tasting Village will showcase samples from local, regional and national food brands.
