Winter Wonderland on White-Sand Beaches

Santa Drop at Flora-BamaIt’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas on the white-sand beaches of Alabama. The holiday spirit floating in the salty air is putting visitors and locals in a festive mood. If you’re spending your holiday vacation in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, you’ll want to check out these jolly events:

See Santa fly through the sky then land on the sugar-white sand behind the Flora-Bama Lounge & Oyster Bar at the Santa Drop on Saturday, December 9. The whole family will delight in seeing Santa jump from an airplane. Fun activities for the kids will immediately follow his flight.

LuLu's Billy ClausAlso on December 9, Bronze sponsor Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s presents Billy Claus and the LuLuBelles from 1-4 p.m. Children of all ages will love meeting Santa’s little brother, Billy Claus, who prefers warm weather due to a snow allergy. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t help his famous big brother prepare for Christmas Eve. He collects the toy lists from the children to pass on to Santa. Prior to his arrival, come hear Billy Claus and the Spirit of Christmas, written and read aloud by Ms. Buffett.

Annual Christmas Lighted Boat ParadeAfter Billy departs, stick around for the 32nd Annual Christmas Lighted Boat Parade that starts at LuLu’s Homeport Marina. Seeing the shimmer and glimmer of the lights bouncing on top of the water is a sight that should not be missed this holiday season.

Ice Skating at the WharfHoliday Skating at The Wharf – Do you have some serious skating skills, or are you up for your very first glide across the ice? Diamond sponsor The Wharf will have a real ice skating rink open to the public throughout the month of December.

Photos with Santa at The Wharf – Each Friday, Saturday and Sunday through December 23, bring your little ones to take ho-ho-holiday photos with Santa while he sets up his elf shop at Diamond sponsor The Wharf.
