Guys Weekend Itinerary
Gulf Shores & Orange Beach
A few days of friendly competition, earning bragging rights and hanging out with your best buddies. If that sounds like a prime way to spend a fall weekend on Alabama’s beaches, we’ve done the planning for you with this three-day itinerary for a guys weekend in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.
You’re going to need a hearty breakfast to keep your stamina up today. Make a stop at The Ruby Slipper Café in Orange Beach and fuel up on The Peacemaker, two eggs benedicts served on big, fluffy Southern-style biscuits. Don’t forget an order of Pig Candy Bacon!
Morning and Lunch
Tee off with the guys on one of the Alabama Gulf Coast’s championship golf courses. Play nine or 18 holes and enjoy courses designed for all skill levels. Your group can also book a private lesson from a PGA pro! Make a few friendly bets to fuel the competition on the course. Loser buys lunch! Drop by the golf course clubhouse for lunch on the greens and an ice-cold beverage.
Hey guys…have you ever had a massage? Now’s the time! Book a sports massage at The Spa & Salon at The Beach Club in Gulf Shores. Trust us. You’ll be happy you did!
For one of the largest selections of craft beer on tap in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, have dinner at Luna’s Eat & Drink. Rev up your appetite with the Beer Cheese Dip and Pretzel Bites. Keep the beer theme going with The Beerger, a beer-basted burger on a sweet sourdough bun.
Today’s breakfast will be on the go or in your condo. Fuel up on some protein and pack a lunch for a day on the water.
Plan for an all-day adventure and book a six- or eight-hour charter fishing trip. Today is a day for brotherhood bonding as you head for blue water 30 miles or more out in the Gulf of Mexico. Bring a cooler with plenty of water and protein-packed snacks, as well as sunscreen, sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat.
Nothing says bragging rights like having a chef prepare your fresh catch. Call ahead to the Flora-Bama Yacht Club to inform the chef you’ll be bringing tonight’s dinner. It doesn’t get any fresher than right off the boat! Order up a locally-famous bushwacker and wait for your prized catch to make it to your table.
Sleep in today. You guys earned it! When you’re ready, head to Sunliner Diner in Gulf Shores. This 1950s-era diner serves up a traditional diner breakfast of grits, egg and bacon. You’ll also find omelets and plenty of other options, too.
After two days of activity, it’s time to relax on the beach. Park your flip flops along Alabama’s 32 miles of white-sand beaches. Play a game of spike ball or just sit back in the sand and catch up on life with your brew crew. Pack a cooler of snacks to tide you over until dinner.
Bill’s by the Beach offers the perfect blend of award-winning cuisine coupled with a relaxing beach atmosphere. It’s ideal for closing out the last night of your guy’s getaway. Start your meal with the Oyster Bienville, a delicious creation featuring Gouda and white cheddar, Tasso ham, sherry, mushrooms, vegetable trinity and shrimp. Oh, and of course, oysters!
