Sail the Gulf Waters
Ahoy captain! There are so many wonderful ways to explore the Gulf Coast waters, but sailing is one of our favorites. The beautiful waters and incredible sea life make experiencing the area by sailboat a must. While on your excursion, you may take advantage of being out on the water to do a bit of fishing or diving. You can bring your own vessel or opt for a sailing charter.
Rock Out at The Wharf
There’s nothing like spending a summer night listening to live music under the stars. Country legend Keith Urban is coming to The Wharf Amphitheater on Sunday, August 6 with special guest Ingrid Andress. This Grammy award-winning artist is bound to put on an incredible show. Get your tickets here.

Test Your Watersport Skills
Gravity Island at Downtown OWA is the ultimate spot for thrills and fun in the water. The island offers a wake park operated by a two-tower cable system that allows riders to wakeboard, wakeskate, tube and kneel board. The Aqua Play boasts two exciting inflatable obstacle courses in the lake at OWA. Test your skills as you try not to slip and slide off the course. Training is provided to participants to ensure safety and lifeguards are present.
Reel ‘Em In
The Orange Beach Open on August 4-6 is Gulf Coast fishing at its finest. This low-stress tournament begins Thursday with departure and ends Saturday evening with weigh-ins at The Wharf Marina. The best part about this tournament is that it’s a no-kill event, so all fish are released back into the water. Whether you choose to participate or just spectate, it’s sure to be a fantastic time with impressive catches.

Get Lost in Nature
Nature enthusiast and outdoor lovers should head to Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, one of Alabama’s last remaining undisturbed habitats on the coast. The refuge is home to several threatened and endangered species such as turtles, snakes and birds. You may even spot an alligator or two while visiting. With four trails running throughout the area, it’s a great spot for hiking and birding.
Enjoy the Show
Brandon Styles will make you laugh, gasp and say “wow” at his jaw-dropping show. This can’t miss performance is known as the Gulf Coast’s #1 variety show and features comedy, magic, dancing, impressions and more. The whole family will get a kick out of this spectacle held every Tuesday and Saturday evening until December at Downtown OWA.

Get Crafty at The Coastal Arts Center
The Coastal Arts Center in Orange Beach is the premiere spot for art on the Gulf Coast. This stunning destination boasts a beautiful gallery full of mesmerizing art from regional artists. Not only can you browse art here, but you can also make your own. At The Hot Shop, participants can learn the ins and outs of glass blowing and create their very own pieces. Next door, you can try your hand at pottery at The Clay Studio. Whether you choose to try glass blowing or pottery, you’ll receive guided instructions from artists on how to craft your pieces.
