I read the description of the Gulf Towers, which clearly states that the building is ADA compliant. I rented a beach wheelchair so I could go down to the beach my grandson. The cork-screw zig zag ramp was more than difficult. At the end of the ramp there was a drop off of several inches making exit difficult and potentially injurious. Exiting the ramp and then attempting to re-enter the same was more than difficult. It took my husband and two other gentlemen to get me and the wheelchair back on the ramp. Each time, exiting and re-entering the wheelchair almost tipped over which would place me under it. Again if my husband had not been with me, I would have been injured. While the property and the unit are good I cannot recommend this property to anyone with a handicap. Also, the doors from the parking deck and from the pool area are heavy and very difficult for someone who is handicapped. They cannot open these doors from the wheelchair, they must wait for someone to help.
