Since 1834 Fort Morgan has stood as the guardian of Mobile Bay and served as Alabama's largest permanent military post between 1900 and 1923. Famous for the pivotal role it played in the Civil War Battle of Mobile Bay, Fort Morgan also served in the Spanish-American War, World War I and World War II. In fact, many historians consider Fort Morgan to be one of finest examples of military architecture in the country.
The Civil War Christmas is scheduled for Saturday evening, December 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 seniors, $3 for children 18 and under, and free for children 6 and under.
