Combine Bowl Season and the Beach

Beach-TailgateThe tinsel may still be hanging, but college football's bowl season is well underway. Just as the holidays brought celebrations and pomp and circumstance, so does bowl season. Plan a last-minute getaway with your favorite football fans and head to the

Alabama Gulf Coast for game day fun. Numerous restaurants and sports bars will air college bowl games. In addition, many Gulf Shores condos and Orange Beach hotels will offer the channels needed to cheer on your favorite team. For channel specifics, be sure to inquire with your vacation rental management company when booking your accommodations. Bowl games will be aired on ESPN, ABC and CBS. While bowl games began as early as Dec. 20, the gridiron action gets into full swing after Christmas and with playoff games on Jan. 1. Bring your home team to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach and catch the Liberty Bowl on Dec. 29 between West Virginia and Texas A&M. Notre Dame takes on LSU in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30. Also on Dec. 30, Georgia plays Louisville in the Belk Bowl. Before you head out for New Year's Eve festivities, the Peach Bowl with Ole Miss and TCU airs at 12:30 p.m. Arizona takes on Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl and Mississippi State plays Georgia Tech on Dec. 31 as well. On New Year's Day, you can catch the Outback Bowl between Auburn and Wisconsin, as well as the Rose Bowl between Oregon and Florida State and finally the Sugar Bowl between Alabama and Ohio State. In nearby Mobile, Alabama, you can watch the GoDaddy Bowl between Toledo and Arkansas State on Jan. 4. Bowl season culminates with the college football playoff game on Jan. 12.
