Four Fall Food Festivals on the Alabama Gulf Coast
Fall is a spectacular time to hit the beautiful white-sand beaches on the Alabama Gulf Coast. With pleasant temperatures and plenty of elbow room, it's the ideal time to catch some rays and relaxation.
Will you be traveling south for a Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Sports Commission event? If so, in addition to all the thrills of the tournaments and championships, you'll find ample action off the field or court at one of the exciting foodie events happening during the cooler months.
- This month, our Platinum sponsor The Wharf will host the Uncorked Wine & Culinary Event in Orange Beach. The festivities will be in full swing September 24-26. For three days, you'll have the opportunity to both taste and purchase wine from domestic and local vineyards. In addition, top chefs will be on hand to display their skills with demos and classes. Live entertainment will also be provided each day.
- Speaking of food and fun, the 4th Annual Alabama Festival of Flavor will land on the streets of Historic Downtown Foley on October 3. This food, wine and craft beer event is focused on locally grown and produced products. Festival-goers can stroll the streets while sampling unique specialty wines, craft beer and scrumptious cuisine. Highlights of this event include cooking demos by local chefs and tastings. Celebrate a big win at this delectable festival!
- Change out of your athletic socks and throw on some lederhosen on October 3 for Oktoberfest at Flora-Bama Lounge & Oyster Bar. The festival is free and family-friendly during the day, and geared toward those 18 years or older after 6 p.m. So whether you want to have an outing with the kids or make it an adults-only night out after the big game, this fest gives you both options. German-style musical acts are set to perform as brats, sauerkraut and German beer are served.
- Let's all cheer for oysters! On October 6-7, sports fans will love the 8th Annual Oyster Cook-Off and Craft Beer Festival at the Hangout, which is one of our Gold sponsors. Top chefs from across the country will travel to the Alabama Gulf Coast to demonstrate their supreme skills and talents by preparing succulent oysters for the festival guests. In addition, live music, an oyster shucking contest and cooking demos will be happening. It wouldn't be a Saturday in the fall without football, so you won't miss a game. There will be sports viewing in special lounges or you can head inside The Hangout to watch.
Food and sports together makes a winning combination, for sure! Which one of these events is tempting your taste buds?
