4 Fun Activities for Tournament Downtime

Gulf Shores & Orange Beach

The best part of a sports event vacation is combining play time on the field with play time off the field. There’s more to a Gulf Shores and Orange Beach tournament than just swinging for the fences and playing for the gold.

Parasailing off the Coast of Orange Beach, AL

When you’re looking for fun activities to fill your tournament downtime, check out these four attractions on Alabama’s beaches.

1.) Why let the adrenaline stop when you leave the field? Catch some air and get a birds-eye-view of Alabama’s white-sand beaches with Chute for the Skye Parasail. Hop aboard a boat at SanRoc Cay Marina or Tacky Jacks Orange Beach. The 12- to 15-passenger boats may even be able to carry the whole team. If parasailing isn’t for you, rent a pontoon boat, kayak or stand up paddleboard.

2.) Take the entire team on a charter fishing trip with Reel Surprise Charters at SanRoc Cay. If you select a party boat charter, there will be plenty of room for you and your crew to reel in dinner. Pack an ice chest, sunscreen, hat, and plenty of snacks and water for your day on the water.

Waterville USA

3.) Get lazy on the lazy river or ride the wave pool at Waterville USA. After a hot day on the court or field, Waterville offers a welcome respite. Spend an afternoon cooling off and racing down tall slides.

4.) Enjoy a little retail therapy at the Tanger Outlet Center in nearby Foley. You’ll have 120 stores to get your shopping fix from, including brand name and designer stores like Michael Kors, J. Crew, Nike Factory Store and more.
