The Gulf Shores Golf Club not only provides visitors to the Orange Beach and Gulf Shores area a quality resort golf course, but some history as well. The course, located in a beautiful setting just 2 blocks west of Hwy. 59, was built in 1967 and was the first in Gulf Shores, Ala.
Gulf Shores Golf Club was designed by the father-son team of Jay and Carter Morrish and was given a complete renovation in 2005. That project lengthened the course by 300 yards, added water tests, enhanced fairways and additional bunkers. The 18-hole, par 71 layout has become spectacular and a stop golf enthusiasts shouldn’t miss.
The traditional plantation-style clubhouse includes a restaurant and pro shop, and provides an excellent view of the golf course. The layout features several water hazards as well as stately oak and pine trees, as well as plenty of wildlife including squirrels, turtles, egrets and alligators.
The course was voted the best golf course in the U.S.A. for September, 2016, by GolfAdvisor.com.
