2019 Run the Beach series opens with The Big Beach Half Marathon Jan. 27
GULF SHORES AND ORANGE BEACH, ALA. – New year, new you – start 2019 fitness-focused by participating in the Run the Beach three-race half marathon series whether you run, walk or wheel to the finish line. The series begins with The Big Beach Half Marathon on Jan. 27 followed by the Sea Turtle Half Marathon Feb. 16 and the Kaiser Realty by Wyndham Vacation Rentals Coastal Half Marathon Nov. 30.
“Run the Beach is a community-minded event series geared toward helping people develop healthy habits and experience our beach cities outside of summer,” Beth Gendler, vice president of the Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Sports Commission. “Each race winds through the beautifully enhanced and expanded Backcountry Trail system, showing off the nine distinct ecosystems within Gulf State Park.”
