GULF SHORES AND ORANGE BEACH, ALA. – On May 18, USA Today announced its winners of the Best Small-Town competitions. The City of Gulf Shores was ranked number five on the list of Best Small Coastal Towns and the City of Orange Beach was named number three on the list of Best Small-Town Food Scenes.
These awards come just a few days before Alabama’s beaches are set to host visitors for Memorial Day weekend, the official kick-off to the summer season.
“Earlier this week it was announced that Baldwin County welcomed 6.4 million visitors in 2017. These guests come to our beaches, support our local businesses and continue to return year-by-year with their friends and families.” said Herb Malone, President and CEO of Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism. “It is a great honor for our cities to be recognized on a national level by USA Today readers.”
