GULF SHORES AND ORANGE BEACH, ALA. – Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism celebrated its senior tourism ambassadors at the annual Ambassador Appreciation Luncheon at the Gulf Shores Welcome Center March 29. In 2018 the group of volunteers spent hours preparing welcome bags for the sales department that were distributed to more than 32,000 conventions and meetings attendees.
Susan Brush, hospitality and information coordinator for the CVB, could not help but lavish the ambassadors with praise for their efforts.
“One of my main roles at the CVB is to coordinate our Tourism Ambassador Program and what a rewarding role it is,” said Brush. “These hardworking volunteers are truly dedicated to the betterment of our destination, and it’s a pleasure to work alongside them throughout the year.”
At the luncheon, Brush recognized Vivian Castano as the Ambassador of the Year for volunteering the most hours this past year. Castano has been volunteering for the CVB for nearly eight years.
“I enjoy working with all of these ladies and making lasting friendships,” said Castano. “It’s also nice to be able to help the community in any way I can.”
Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism invites anyone 18 and older to apply to become a Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism Ambassador. For more information, please contact Susan Brush at SBr[email protected]. And to learn more about the destination, visit GulfShores.com and OrangeBeach.com.
