Venture Out Plein Art Exhibition

Gulf State Park is hosting its first-ever Venture Out event May 14-17, 2026. This four-day festival will feature a variety of outdoor-focused activities, workshops and tours throughout the park and along the Backcountry Trail. 
The family-friendly event is a collaboration between Gulf State Park, the Gulf Coast Eco-Center, Valor Hospitality, the City of Gulf Shores, and the City of Orange Beach.

As part of this inaugural event, we will host a Plein Air Painting Exhibition highlighting the beautiful landscapes of our local Gulf State Park. Fifteen invited artists from the Gulf Coast area will be painting live and on location throughout the Park from Thursday, May 14, through Sunday morning, May 17.

On Sunday, May 17, we will be wrapping up the Venture Out inaugural event. We will host a Plein Air Painting Exhibition with an Art Show/Showcase, featuring over 50 paintings the artists have painted throughout the Park during the week. You are bound to be captivated by their work, knowing each painting was completed on location throughout the park.
The Art Show will be open for viewing on Sunday, May 17, in the Gulf View Ballroom in the Lodge of the Gulf State Park from 1-5 pm. We will have live music, a cash bar & apps. This event is open to the public. Mark your calendars now to join us.
