2026 Winter Showcase Series: Wings over the Gulf: A Look into Coastal Alabama's Unique Birdlife

Discover the rich and diverse birdlife found along Alabama's coast! Join Coastal Outreach Manager Cortney Weatherby as she shares an overview of the birds that can be found throughout the year in Baldwin and Mobile counties—a paradise for birds and birdwatchers alike! 

The second half of the presentation will focus on the state's beach-nesting birds. These thirteen species, 6 of which are species of high conservation concern, depend on Alabama's beaches and coastline to nest and raise their young each summer. 
We will cover their unique lifestyle, threats they face, and how Alabama Audubon's Coastal Bird Stewardship Program is working to protect these vulnerable species.
