Ready to catch the big one? Angler Academy at Gulf State Park is your ultimate beginner’s guide to saltwater fishing!

Join us on the Gulf State Park Saltwater Pier and dive into the exciting world of fishing.

We’ll kick off by covering the must-know basics—like Alabama’s fishing rules and regulations and the essential gear every angler needs. Then, it’s time to get hands-on! You’ll practice tying essential knots, discover the best hooks to use, and learn how to bait them like a pro. By the end of this experience, you’ll have the confidence and skills to cast your line on your own!

Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned angler looking to brush up on the basics, Angler Academy will have you fishing like a pro in no time, as long as the fish are biting, of course!

Each class lasts for two hours.

For Angler Academy, Gulf State Park will provide your fishing pole, bait, and a temporary license for fishing. After the class, if you are interested in continuing to fish, you may purchase a pier license and rent a rod from the pier tackle shop. Your wristband will be good for the day.

No refunds will be issued unless the class is canceled due to weather.
