Beyond the Beach: Keeping Gulf Shores Safe & Aware

The Gulf Shores Woman’s Club (GSWC) is proud to announce Beyond the Beach: Keeping Gulf Shores Safe & Aware, a community event designed to educate and empower residents on three critical safety issues affecting the Gulf Coast: domestic violence and sexual assault, human trafficking, and situational awareness.

The event will take place in Gulf Shores on September 26, 2026, and is offered free of charge to students, families, educators, youth leaders, and community members.

Beyond the Beach is a collaborative effort with four respected partner organizations: The Lighthouse, The Little Tree Project, Gulf Shores Methodist Church, the Gulf Shores Police Department, and Stopping Traffick. Attendees will hear powerful survivor testimonials, receive evidence-based information, and gain practical tools for recognizing danger, seeking help, and staying safe in everyday environments.

“Gulf Shores is a beautiful place to live, but our residents face real risks — online, in relationships, and in public spaces,” said Katie Fahrenbruch, GSWC President. “This event brings together experts and survivors to provide the knowledge and resources we need to protect ourselves and support one another.”

The program will include survivor testimonials, resource tables, printed materials, and opportunities for families to connect directly with local advocates and service providers.
