The Science of Nature: Birds of the Gulf Coast

Part of the Learning Campus' "The Science of Nature" mini-series, an educational mini-series for adults. The perfect way to discover the beauty of Gulf State Park while connecting with fellow nature lovers.

BIRDS OF THE GULF COAST: Join our educators to discover the wonders of birds! This program contains a practice birding adventure to test your knowledge of Gulf State Park bird species before participating in an "avian forensics lab"*. After learning all about birds, their unique adaptations, and fascinating feather structures, help our park biologists with bird conservation efforts!

- *The avian forensics lab is NOT a dissection. It involves looking closely at the microstructure of feathers under microscopes to solve a "case file" and identify bird species.
