Guided Tour the Site of Old Mobile: Alabama's First European Settlement

Join us for a one-of-a-kind guided tour of the original site of the town of Mobile, founded in 1702! Located along the banks of the Mobile River twenty-seven miles north of modern downtown, “Old Mobile” served as the capital of French Louisiana until it was relocated to the current site of Mobile in 1711. This important archaeological site is not ordinarily accessible to the public, so you do not want to miss this rare opportunity!

Dr. Gregory Waselkov, professor emeritus at the University of South Alabama and longtime director of USA’s Center for Archaeological Studies, will be our guide through the streets of Alabama’s first European settlement. Dr. Waselkov has spent decades investigating and writing about this incredible site.

Our charter bus leaves from the parking lot of East Pointe Baptist Church, directly across from the entrance to Historic Blakeley State Park. Guests will park on the left side of the building, in front of the church sanctuary. The church's address is 34742 AL-225, Spanish Fort, AL 36527

Admission:

$35 for adults/$30 for kids 6-12, and $25 for kids 5 and under.
