Sports Commission’s Ashley Wilson included in 40 Under 40 by Connect

GULF SHORES AND ORANGE BEACH, ALA. – Ashley Wilson, CSEE, sales manager for the Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Sports Commission, was included in Connect Association magazine’s 2019 “The In-Crowd” 40 Under 40 class. Wilson was nominated by industry peers for her diligent work to pursue new sporting events and retain existing business for the commission, particularly outside of the peak summer season for Alabama’s beaches.
“Ashley relentlessly pursues business for Gulf Shores and Orange Beach with her ability to build relationships and in how she so positively represents the destination,” said Beth Gendler, vice president of sales for the Sports Commission. “We are incredibly proud of Ashley’s accomplishments being recognized by her peers and Connect and also her leadership in the workplace all while being a great wife and mother of two – and one on the way.”
One of Wilson’s greatest career accomplishments is securing the commission’s long-term contract with the NAIA Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama since 2014. In 2019, the event produced an estimated $3.88 million in economic impact and 3,658 room nights with a cumulative $17.59 million impact since 2014.
