The HOLE Story: Kiva Dunes' Hole 2
One of the most secluded and challenging courses on the Alabama Gulf Coast, Kiva Dunes was designed by U.S. Open champion Jerry Pate and is consistently regarded as one of the top courses in the South. The Kiva Dunes golf course winds through the resort property and features 18 holes of championship golf on the Fort Morgan Peninsula of Gulf Shores.
Vacationing golfers will find Kiva Dunes an easy course to play. Golf equipment can be shipped directly to the course, allowing you to make the most of your car space if you're driving in. In addition, Kiva Dunes offers a full-service practice facility with a multi-tiered full-swing area, one chipping green with bunkers and one putting green. If you just want to get in some swings while on vacation, a daily pass permits unlimited use of the practice facility.
How to Play the Hole
Hole #2 is the first of four par 5s at Kiva Dunes. PGA Pro Rea Schuessler of the Gulf Shores Golf Academy says long hitters will be tempted to go for green in two shots, but average to short hitters should lay up to the right of bunkers on the left side of the fairway.
