Time for a Mom's Day Out
Gulf Shores & Orange Beach
There's no better place to consider spending a mom's day out than on the beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast beaches. Being a longtime beach lover myself, I can't think of a more ideal way to unplug than by enjoying Mother Nature. Heading to the beach doesn't always involve surf and sand, however. A multitude of relaxing activities, from yoga to spa time, will help recharge Mom!

Self-care is always tough to schedule when you're a mother, but sometimes you need to take a few hours off from active mom duty and unwind. Yoga on the beach is a great way to start off. Glow Yoga offers classes throughout the year at their studio, located in Gulf Shores, or at the beach. The sound of the surf and the Gulf breeze is definitely relaxing, and after class you can enjoy a walk on the beach or simply sit back with a book and enjoy some downtime while you listen to the surf.
I love discovering local boutiques and unique gift shops that go beyond the standard saltwater taffy and air-brushed T-shirts you typically find at the beach. The gift shop at The Gulf was one of the retail therapy moments of bliss during one of my recent trips to the Alabama Gulf Coast. The shop is filled with beautiful and unique items for your home, as well as jewelry and other accessories - and, of course, T-shirts! The view from The Gulf restaurant is amazing, as is the food, so after your retail therapy you'll want to grab lunch and a refreshing drink. The Gulf has a full bar outdoors and the drink options are plentiful!
Getting a facial or booking a massage or manicure is a definite must-do to escape from everyday stress. The Spa at the beautiful Beach Club in Gulf Shores offers a full menu of pampering options that will help the busiest of moms feel relaxed and refreshed.

One of my favorite Alabama beach activities is boating. Sail Wild Hearts offers several excursions, including an amazing sunset sail. There's no better way to end a day at the beach than by watching the sky light up as the sun sets on the water. The crew is friendly and accommodating, and you can bring your own snacks and beverages. The cruise itself takes about an hour and a half to two hours. This would be a great way to get together with some other mom friends!
Once you are back on dry land you may want to end the evening with dinner or cocktails. Fisher's Dockside at Orange Beach Marina is one of my absolute must-do dining experiences on the Alabama Gulf Coast. The food and drinks are exemplary. The downstairs outdoor dining area overlooking the boat dock is relaxing and low key, while the upstairs dining area is a more elegant atmosphere. Either way, you can't go wrong!
The Alabama Gulf Coast is the perfect place to plan your next mom's day out.
