We had our “babymoon” vacation along Alabama’s beaches, and it was the best trip we have taken in a long time! It was so nice to have a couples getaway and spend some quality time together, just the two of us before we welcome our first baby into the world.

Where We Stayed
We stayed at The Beach Club Resort and Spa, and we highly, highly recommend it! The Beach Club, as well as Turquoise Place (another favorite of ours), is operated by Spectrum Resorts. The Beach Club offers a quiet, private experience. We felt like we had the beach to ourselves, and the pools were never crowded. The staff treated us like royalty during our stay! This resort is perfect for the whole family. They have multiple pools, including a heated indoor pool, an arcade room with Xboxes, and a workout facility. We loved the convenience of the poolside bar and grill, too! I enjoyed many “mocktails” from the bar!

Prenatal Massage
Wondering what to do on a babymoon or looking for relaxing babymoon ideas? It would not be a proper babymoon vacation without a prenatal massage for Mama! The Spa at The Beach Club is incredible and right on the property. The atmosphere is serene and calming, just what soon-to-be mamas need. The therapist I saw was named Alisha, and she did a fantastic job making me feel relaxed and comfortable! I highly recommend booking one during your babymoon. Of course, talk to your doctor first.

Where We Ate
There are countless restaurants to choose from along Alabama’s beaches, and you cannot go wrong. We kept talking about how much we enjoyed the food on this trip, especially the royal reds we had at Coast Restaurant. Royal reds are deep-water shrimp that can be the size of your hand and taste like lobster! On our babymoon, we tried several restaurants we had not been to before, which is always fun on vacation. For visitors on a gluten-free diet like me, I found plenty of options at the restaurants we visited. A few of our favorites from this visit were: Hog Wild BBQ, Coast (located right on the property at The Beach Club), The Southern Grind, Sunliner Diner, Lulu’s, and Picnic Beach.

What We Did
When not enjoying the beautiful beach and relaxing by the pool, we explored the area and found several fun activities to do together. It’s always nice to have rainy-day options other than the beach in case you run into bad weather during your stay.
First, High Cotton Bath Company, located at The Wharf, offered a unique experience that you have to try on your next visit! You can create custom bath products with your own personal fragrance. They have several bases, such as oils, bath wash, and lotions to choose from that are all-natural, plus hundreds of different essential oils to mix to create a unique scent. I created a whipped hand cream that smells amazing and is perfect for pampering this Mama. I made the scent using their pre-made list of recommendations, and mine was called Peace. The best part? They save your information on file so you can easily re-order your favorites online and have them shipped to you.
Next up, we enjoyed a romantic picnic with The Beach Moms. This was our favorite part of the entire trip. We had initially planned for a picnic on the beach, but due to iffy weather, they graciously moved our picnic inside our condo so we wouldn’t miss out. We went for a walk on the beach while they set up our room, and we were honestly not expecting what we experienced when we walked in from the beach. I actually cried when I walked in and saw this setup (pregnancy hormones!) because it was so sweet and thoughtful. We enjoyed the most intimate, romantic date night, sitting on the floor talking about our life, marriage, and baby girl, whom we can’t wait to meet. This picnic experience was truly a gift to us, and we highly recommend booking with The Beach Moms during your next trip to the Alabama Beaches.

Lastly, to end our trip, we enjoyed a sunset cruise with Sail Wild Hearts. This was the first time I had ever been on a sailboat like this! It was huge and had a nice indoor area with comfortable seating. They offered complimentary snacks and drinks like fruit, chips, salsa, soft drinks, and water. You are also allowed to bring your own cooler with snacks and drinks. The entire boat ride was about 2 hours. There is a restroom on the boat, which earned them major bonus points with this preggo!

Alabama’s beaches are home to us, so we may be a little biased, but it’s one of our favorite places on Earth. If you are planning a babymoon soon, or even just considering babymoon ideas, I can’t recommend a sweeter spot! We will be planning many more trips in the future with our little girl.
