SEC soccer gearing up for Orange Beach championship
The SEC Women’s Soccer Tournament takes place Oct. 31 to Nov. 7 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex
GULF SHORES AND ORANGE BEACH, ALA. – Beginning on Halloween – Sunday, Oct. 31 – through Nov. 7, 2021, the top 10 Southeastern Conference (SEC) women’s soccer teams will battle for bragging rights during the SEC Women’s Soccer Tournament at the Orange Beach Sportsplex. The city of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores | Orange Beach Sports & Events (formerly the Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Sports Commission) have hosted the championship tournament since 2003.
“Orange Beach has become SEC soccer’s home away from home, and we hope their stays have inspired return family vacations along Alabama’s beaches over the years,” said Michelle Russ, STLI, vice president of sales, sports and events for GSOB Sports & Events. “In 2020, the SEC Women’s Soccer Tournament generated nearly $430,000 in economic impact during a year of economic uncertainty and a season of major rebuilding from Hurricane Sally.”
Admission for adults is $5 per match and $2 per day for children (K-12). All matches will air live on the SEC Network.
