Many visitors can't resist spending time at the Gulf State Park Fishing and Education Pier during their annual vacation to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. One of the longest in the Gulf of Mexico, this incredible pier offers much to see and do.
Due to damage from Hurricane Sally in 2020, the pier is currently only open just past the halfway point. Once repairs are complete, it will offer 2,448 feet of fishing space. The pier is great for both beginner and experienced anglers and boasts access to a variety of species such as sheepshead, Spanish mackerel, pompano, whiting, and more. Whether you go sightseeing or fishing, there are a few things to know when you go.
