Hurricane Passes
Hurricane Passes
In the event of a weather emergency, be sure to have an up-to-date hurricane re-entry pass before evacuating. These can be obtained at Gulf Shores City Hall or the Gulf Shores City Store with proof of residency and a valid ID, or at the Orange Beach Finance Department with proof of residency and a current city utility account. Gulf Shores residents can access hurricane resources here, and Orange Beach residents can find resources regarding weather emergencies here. All other Baldwin County residents can find information regarding weather and hurricanes here.
Public Beach Passes
Public Beach Passes
Each year, Orange Beach residents can obtain free beach parking passes for Gulf State Park public beach accesses at Orange Beach City Hall. Two decals are issued per household. Additionally, Orange Beach residents receive one free parking pass per household for the gated, local beach at COASTAL. This can be picked up at City Hall and must be rescanned each year. Beach pass decals are required to be affixed to the front windshield, and the COASTAL pass must be visible from the front windshield to open the gate.
Gulf Shores residents’ hurricane re-entry pass grants them free parking at Gulf Shores public beaches as well as access to the residents-only parking lot at East Gulf Place. Decals must be permanently affixed to the windshield.
Beach Safety
Before you head to the beach, familiarize yourself with the beach safety flags and check the status of today’s flag. You can also sign up to receive daily beach conditions and warning flag status by texting ALBEACHES to 888777. You can opt out at any time by texting STOP.

Beach Flag
Beach warning flags are posted at all public beach areas in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Gulf State Park. Conditions are monitored throughout the day. Please remember that the absence of red flags does not assure safe conditions. Within the corporate city limits of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, it is illegal to enter the Gulf when two red flags are displayed.
Leave Only Footprints
Together, our communities, area businesses, and concerned citizens organized in 2007 to create a beach sustainability program to protect our valuable natural assets. Leave Only Footprints is an initiative to help visitors and locals enjoy our pristine beaches in a sustainable way for years to come. The program balances a healthy ecosystem for wildlife with a fun beach experience for visitors and locals.

Take Part In
To protect their beauty for generations, the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach cities have enacted the Leave Only Footprints initiative. What does this mean for you and your next beach day? Familiarize yourself with the beach usage rules and regulations before your visit and arrange a fun and responsible vacation on Alabama’s pristine beaches.
