2021 Big Beach Marathon, Half Marathon & Safari 7K
From Big Beach website: "2020 has been a tough and crazy year for all! We didn't even know if we would be able to have the 2021 Big Beach Marathon, and have had to make changes to do so. First, we have to limit the size of folks congregating and do our best to keep everyone socially distanced. So, the race will be run in waves of 100 every 15 minutes starting at 7:30 AM. Also, we have made course changes for 2021 only. We will start across Beach Blvd from the Hangout to facilitate the wave starts. The marathon course will be a double loop of the half course to simplify logistics and reduce the number of volunteers and physical aid stations required. We ask for your understanding and patience during these trying times.
The Big Beach Marathon, Half Marathon, and 7k take place in Gulf Shores, Alabama, known for its white-sand beaches and clear Gulf of Mexico waters. Boasting a flat and fast Boston Qualifier course, the marathon reveals beautiful scenery as it runs through the paved trail system of Gulf State Park before finishing the last mile on Beach Blvd with great views of the Gulf of Mexico as you cross the finish line. Each participant will receive a custom finishers medal, long sleeve tech race shirt, access to the post-race celebration with free beer, food, and music. You must register at least 2 weeks before the race to guarantee a shirt and size."
