The Orange Beach Canoe and Kayak Trail, with its 10 spots dotting the coastal map, offers a variety of environments, some secluded some surrounded by activity. In Gulf Shores, the Gulf State Park and Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge are also home to some prime locations. Below are some of our favorite places to paddleboard in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach:

Lake Shelby is a 900-acre freshwater lake, within sight of the Gulf, in Gulf State Park. Stand-up paddleboards and other equipment rentals are available on-site seasonally. There is also an oak-covered picnic area and a bathhouse.

Wolf Bay is a vast brackish water body and has many access points along the Orange Beach Canoe and Kayak Trail. Gulf of Mexico is a favorite of many. Vast blue waters, variable wave action and the best beach views anywhere make an SUP excursion here a highlight for vacationers of all skill levels.
