July 8-9, 2011 Pensacola Beach Air Show and the Naval Aviation Museum
Every Tuesday and Wednesday morning visitors can watch the Blue Angels practice their jet-fueled, aviation magic. This weekend, though, it's time to see what they can really do. The Pensacola Beach Air Show starts on Friday and features four death-defying
performances by the Blue Angels on Saturday.
Teams participating in the event include:
- Grumman Widgeon G-44 flown by Julian MacQueen
- Prometheus flown by Skip Stewart
- Team RV
- MX2 flown by Gary Ward
- Fat Albert, a C-130 Hercules
- Boeing (Stearman) A75N1 flown by Roy Kinsey
Round out your aviation day trip with a free visit to the National Aviation Museum. In addition to the many aircraft on display, visitors can enjoy a free guided tour, take in an IMAX show, or test their skills in a flight simulator.
Cross Perdido Key Bridge and turn right at the first light onto Gulf Beach Highway (292A). Turn right onto Blue Angel Parkway and enter west gate of NAS Pensacola. The museum is three miles ahead on left. Open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is free.
