Good Times Will Roll at the Waterway Village Zydeco & Crawfish Festival
You haven’t seen a crawfish race?
Then you haven’t been to the Annual Waterway Village Zydeco & Crawfish Festival held in Gulf Shores. The fun begins when the pots start boiling at 10 a.m. on April 16 on the banks of the Intracoastal Canal.
The event celebrates the zydeco music and culture, as well as crawfish, boiled up hot and spicy for festival-goers. When you’re not sinking your teeth into the crustacean of the day, dance to the rhythms of the South’s best zydeco bands. Live music will be performed all day. In addition, pick your favorite crawfish for the annual crawfish races and browse a great selection of wares from arts and crafts vendors. Children’s activities make this an event for the whole family, and the young and young-at-heart will enjoy a peek at an authentic 80-foot shrimp boat.
A 5K and 1-mile Fun Run will help you work up an appetite. Runners are treated to complimentary refreshments following the race. Proceeds benefit Furrever Homes, a local animal rescue organization.
The good times will roll until 6 p.m. When you’re onsite, join in the fun by snapping festival photos and sharing them on social media.
