Fun in the Sun at the Beach

In June, when the water along the coast warm ups, everyone from lovebirds to families get out to enjoy the sights, smells, tastes and adventures.
You will be amazed at how much there is to do from watersports and charter fishing to the many adventures in the sky such as parasailing, helicopter tours and ziplining. Or explore one of the many events in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.
5th Annual Flora-Bama Fishing Rodeo – June 1-3. Tickets are $45 for adults, and $25 for kids 12 and under. Kids can fish with the purchase of an adult-division ticket. June 1: fishing begins 12am; June 2: fishing closes at 7pm; June 3: 3pm awards ceremony. This is the most fun fishing tournament on the Alabama Gulf Coast with top prizes for biggest catfish to largest bill fish and everything in between. Enjoy the daily weigh-ins with fish viewing area, live music, great food and hospitality.
The Velcro Pygmies – June 1 and June 2. 8pm-2am at Live Bait. $10 ages 21+, $15 18-20 years old. With a unique blend of personalities, The Velcro Pygmies deliver a non-stop high energy eclectic blend of music ranging from 80s, country and R&B. They’re on the road for more than 200 shows a year from Dallas to Augusta. This is a concert not to be missed!
2018 Summer Excursions – June 5, 14, 21 and 28. 9:45am-12:15pm at The Estuarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. $12 per person and reservations are recommended. Dates vary. The excursions take visitors into the habitats studied by marine scientists and students at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. Choose a trip to the salt marsh or a walk along the beach, through the dunes, and into the maritime forest.
