LuLu’s Hot Trot for ARC 5K Run/Walk is a fundraiser for the Association for Retarded Citizens of Baldwin County on June 16. This community event is held by the Robertsdale Rotary Club and located at one of best places for a post-race celebration, LuLu’s. The grand prize drawing includes a vacation getaway to a Gulf Shores resort. Come while on vacation and take a future vacation back home with you.

The Shark Run takes place at the Flora-Bama Lounge on July 4. This holiday fun run is a four-mile course with half of the race on the road and half on the beach. Racers wear a flag football belt and attempt to allude the “sharks” trying to steal the flags. In order to receive awards, winners must have flags intact when crossing the finish line.

Returning to The Wharf in Orange Beach is the 2018 Blue Marlin Grand Championship of the Gulf July 10-15. This Billfish Week fishing tournament is considered “the greatest show in sportfishing” and has been recognized as one of the Top 20 events in the Southeast. Hosted during the final leg of the Gulf Coast Triple Crown Series, the Blue Marlin Championship is one of the hottest events of the summer.

Waterville USA Flow Tour takes place July 28 on the FlowRider. This tour stop features athletes competing for a spot at the championship competition. Just go with the flow and cool off at this summer’s smoking hot event in Gulf Shores.

Brett/Robinson Coastal Triathlon

For the 12th year in a row, the Brett Robinson Alabama Coastal Triathlon will take place in the heart of Gulf Shores at The Hangout on Sept. 8. The beautiful Gulf of Mexico makes a perfect back drop for the swim portion of the race and the flat course is a racer’s dream for cycling and running. Participants can choose from a beginner-friendly “try-it-on” to the full triathlon.
