Holiday with Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Sports
As summer comes to an end, the holiday season shines on along the Alabama Gulf Coast.
From Halloween haunts to classic Coastal Christmas stylings, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are the places to be when the holiday season speeds toward us. Find fun activities even in the off-season when you’re here on the Alabama Gulf Coast.
Halloween
Whether you’re looking for a costume contest, a fun party, a safe trick-or-treating space or all of the above, the local haunts will not disappoint. Not to be missed are activities include Movies at Meyer Park, as well as Spooky Movie on the Lawn and Trunk R Treat at The Wharf in Orange Beach and the annual BooLu’s event at LuLu’s Gulf Shores.

Thanksgiving
Some call it “Thanksgiving.” Some call it “Turkey Day.” Whatever you call it, we wouldn’t want you to go hungry. While many local establishments close their doors for this family holiday, others leave it open and invite you into their family. Be sure to call ahead, but in the past, these restaurants have been known to serve the public on Thanksgiving Day: Cobalt the Restaurant, The Hangout, Fisher’s, Luna’s Eat & Drink, Lucy Buffet’s LuLu’s, Flora-Bama, and GT’s on the Bay.
And if you’re here for the Kaiser Realty by Wyndham Vacation Rentals Coastal Half Marathon, 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run, you’re going to want to get your calories in. Once you’ve had your share of fixins, head off to the races with your family for half marathon fun with a bit of the Run the Beach three-race half marathon series.
Coastal Christmas
We put the “AL” in Coastal Christmas here in Alabama! Source local souvenirs at Merry Market at The Wharf. Enjoy Breakfast with Santa. Meet his brother Billy Claus and the LuLuBelles. Visit the Orange Beach Tree Lighting and ice skating rink at The Wharf. Enjoy the Gulf Shores Christmas Parade and write your name in lights at the Annual Lighted Boat Parade!
Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are small towns with tight-knit local communities. We’re humbled every year by the opportunity to bring visitors to our home for the holidays and treat them to a family experience.
