Gulf Coast marine life exhibit

Include a trip to the Sea, Sand and Stars Science and Nature Center in Orange Beach where you can see (and touch) much of the sea life found in the Gulf of Mexico.

A 5,800-gallon saltwater aquarium gives guests a glimpse into the captivating animals in the Gulf. And for those brave enough to try, a 1,500-gallon marine life touch tank will give kids and adults alike the chance to pet a variety of creatures.

Explore the heavens in the facility’s 38-seat planetarium, and get a close-up look at marine life in the center’s microscope lab. Venture down the 800-foot boardwalk to find and observe native birds, insects and other wildlife.

Round out your trip to Sea, Sand and Stars with an IMAX movie in the planetarium. The marine-themed movies are rotated throughout the season and reservations are required. Be sure and visit the center’s library and gift shop for a memento of your tour.

Sea, Sand and Stars is open Monday through Thursday, 9am-2pm, from June 5 through July 28, excluding the week of July 4.

Reservations are accepted beginning May 22. Schedule your visit by calling 251-981-5690. Visit the center’s website for schedules and more details.
