The Beach
Obviously, our #1 spot is the beach. Along the Alabama Gulf Coast, you’ll find sugar-white sand, turquoise waters and blue bird skies year-round. Our destination has plenty of public beaches or you can choose to get your group photo outside of your hotel, condo or beach house. Whether your family wants the Gulf in the background or wheat-colored sand dunes, this shot is sure to garner the attention (and envy) of everyone at home.
Fort Morgan
This Third System masonry fort was built in the early- to mid-1800s and still stands as a testament to the U.S. Naval Forces centuries later. If you’re a family full of history buffs, think about scheduling your pictures to be taken at Fort Morgan State Historic Site. Set up at the top of the fort overlooking Mobile Bay or group together underneath one of the brick archways, and you’ll have all of your followers stopping mid-scroll to admire your adorable fam.
Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s
One of the most popular places to eat for families visiting the area is LuLu’s. A destination within the destination, this outdoor dining sensation has several fun spots that would make for perfect family photo backdrops including the back deck overlooking the water or in front of the boats outside Homeport Marina.
Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo
Lions, tigers and lemurs…oh my! The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is the ideal location for a “wild” family photo. In early 2020, our “Little Zoo That Could” will move to a bigger location that will house a lot more opportunities for Instagrammable moments. From climbing walls to exotic event spaces and new, larger animal exhibits, your group will be able to choose from a plethora of places within the zoo to get that perfect group photo.
Coastal Arts Center
And last, but certainly not least, is the magnificent Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach. With four acres overlooking Wolf Bay and a gorgeous gallery filled with fine arts, it should come as no surprise that this gem is rounding up our list. Especially for those families looking for an eclectic take on the traditional family photo, this is a wonderful location.
