Family dining by the water at The Gulf beachfront restaurant in Orange Beach

1. Easter Brunch

Sure, you could prepare a big holiday meal on Easter Sunday, but you don't have to in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Several restaurants including GTs, The Hangout, Foodcraft, and Coast are offering Sunday brunch to celebrate. We suggest calling and making a reservation to make sure you have a table. You can also pick up a prepared to-go meal and dine in the comfort of your condo or beach house.

2. Enjoy Family-Friendly Events

You can’t let Easter pass by without the kids participating in an egg hunt or snapping photos with the Easter Bunny. Check out these events happening along our shores around the holiday.

3. Attend a Sunrise Easter Service

Put on your Sunday best and worship on the beach. Our destination’s come-as-you-are Easter sunrise services allow you to enjoy the holiday with sand between your toes and clear-blue water in the background. We suggest bringing a blanket or beach chairs as many services have limited seating. Flora-Bama Lounge and Oyster Bar and The Lodge host free sunrise services by the shore on Easter Sunday. Both are open to the public.

4. View Incredible Sunrises & Sunsets

Locals love this time of year on Alabama's white-sand beaches as the weather offers comfortable mornings and evenings. During these early spring months, the sun rises and sets directly over the beach, creating picture-perfect moments. Go for an early morning walk or plan an evening picnic to catch these beautiful scenes.

5. Get Outdoors

Fresh air and sunshine start with bike rides and hikes. You’ll discover nine different ecosystems as you experience the natural beauty of Gulf State Park. The park has a free bike-sharing program, so you don’t even have to bring your own. Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail offers more than 28 miles of trails for bikers and hikers to explore. If you prefer to hit the water, rent a kayak or paddleboard from a local outfitter and venture onto Lake Shelby, located at the center of the park.
