Fishing Trip
Fishing Trip
From the thrill of heading offshore to catch Gulf fish to casually casting off from the shore, the possibilities are endless for those looking to hook their next meal on Alabama's Beaches. Grab a spot on a deep-sea fishing charter or cast a line from the surf or a pier. Red snapper is also in season during Father's Day and makes a perfect fresh Gulf dinner. The area even boast several kid-friendly fishing experiences, so the whole family can get in on the angling action with Dad!
Soar Above the Shore
Soar Above the Shore
Give Dad a bird's-eye view of the gorgeous waters of the Gulf with a flight in a gyroplane. He'll fly the aircraft with the help of an FAA-certified flight instructor from Magni Gyroflight and experience the gift of a lifetime. He'll be outfitted with a headset before flying a loop around the beach. Choose from 20-, 40-, or 60-minute flights and dazzle Dad with a one-of-a-kind experience.
Big Beach Brewing Company
Big Beach Brewing Company
Take Dad to Big Beach Brewing Company, a fun taproom and 10-barrel brewhouse in the heart of Gulf Shores. You'll join other craft beer enthusiasts at this indoor-outdoor alehouse featuring live music on the weekends. There are always 12 beers on tap, made in-house at the locally-owned brewery. You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch or order snacks from bar.
Ride the Mobile Bay Ferry
Ride the Mobile Bay Ferry
Hop aboard the Mobile Bay Ferry and take a relaxing cruise across Mobile Bay to Dauphin Island. The ride takes around 40 minutes and offers passengers the opportunity to see the local bird and marine life. Once you make it across, check out Fort Gaines Historic Site and the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. After you've finished exploring Dauphin Island, you can hop onto the ferry and travel back to Fort Morgan, as trips leave every hour and a half.
Hit the Golf Course
Hit the Golf Course
Alabama's Beaches are brimming with fantastic golf courses that are not only located in beautiful settings but are also award-winning. In fact, several of our area's golf courses landed on Golf Advisor's Top 20 list of courses in Alabama. Dad will love playing a few rounds while enjoying the coastal breeze and gorgeous scenery. Afterwards, take him out to a post-game 19th hole meal to celebrate the holiday.
Hit the Water
Hit the Water
In June, the water is cool, comfortable, and perfect for watersports. Let Dad unwind and cool off by renting kayaks or paddleboards and exploring the calm back bays together. If you're looking for something a little more exciting, there are plenty of unique ways to hit the water, like parasailing or foil boarding. Or pick a fun activity suitable for the whole family, such as relaxing on a tiki cruise or renting inflatable boats with Exotic Aquatics GoBoats or Beachside Circle Boats.
Cruise Around
Cruise Around
Let Dad captain his own boat with a pontoon boat rental from a local marina. There are lots of noteworthy boating spots to visit while exploring the waterways. Once you're aboard, cruise out to Bird and Robinson Islands and spend a day playing in the water, sunbathing on the boat, or looking for local wildlife. When you get hungry, head to one of the many dock and dine restaurants for a waterfront meal.
Historic Fort Morgan
Historic Fort Morgan
If Dad is a history buff, he'll love exploring the tunnels and barracks at Historic Fort Morgan. This third-system masonry fort has stood tall, guarding Mobile Bay for over a century. Dad and the kiddos will have a blast checking out the fort's grounds while also getting a fantastic view of the water from the top of the fort.
